2．The refractory bricks for hot blast furnace
1．The roof of hot blast furnace
The roof of hot blast furnace is the high temperature zone. The refractory bricks in the furnace roof have to be of good anti heat shock and creep resistance, especially for the bricks that contact hot air and hot smoke directly.
Generally speaking, the silica bricks or low creep high alumina bricks are used in the roof and fire clay insulation bricks are used in the heat insulation layer. It is paid attention to that the temperature in working side of insulation bricks can not be higher then its working temperature.
2．The wall of blast furnace
The liner of wall for hot blast furnace include refractory bricks in working layer, insulation bricks in insulation layer and filling materials. In the up part of wall accept higher temperature but in the medium and lower part of it accept lower temperature. The low creep high alumina bricks or silica bricks are sued in the up part of wall and high alumna bricks and fire clay bricks are used in the medium and lower part of wall for working layer. The different grade insulation bricks, ceramic blanket and filling materials are used in the different insulation layer of the part.
3．The partition wall of hot blast furnace
The partition wall of hot blast furnace is a refractory wall that compart firebox and regenerator. There are expanding slot between partition wall and roof that makes air current distributing in uniformity. The partition wall is higher then checker bricks by 400-700 mm. The partition wall come forth crack by bending continuously that caused by big difference in temperature and heat expanding at its both sides and its below part. The low creep high alumina bricks are used in the up part of partition wall and fire clay bricks and high alumina bricks are used in medium and below part of partition wall.
4．Checker bricks and Refractory bricks for hot blast furnace
Checker bricks are widely used in the high temperature zone of regenerator for hot blast furnace because that has characteristics of volume stability under high temperature，erosion resistance，creep resistance and cheap prices. The silica bricks are used in the condition that the temperature is not less then 1400℃ in the roof of hot blast furnace, fuel combustion is sufficient, its operation is in high level and the quartz residence is less then 2%. The minimum working tempreature for silica bricks has to be confirming in carefulness for hot blast furnace in which reliable detecting temperature instrument is set. That the lowest temperature is not less then 800℃ is guaranteed for silica bricks during its operation or air and its operation stopped.
